The Total Solar Eclipse in Aries
This eclipse occurs at 19° Aries at 11:21 am PST/2:21 pm EST on April 8th, 2024. It will be most impactful for those with planets and major angles between 14° — 24° of Cardinal and Fire Signs; Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, Leo, and Sagittarius. To see the path of totality, tap here!
This is by far the most significant eclipse of the year, maybe of the next several years! It’s a total solar eclipse, meaning the Moon will completely block out the Sun. This is much more intense than the annular eclipse which still leaves a “ring of fire” around the Moon. This total eclipse is also joined by a retrograde Mercury - not close enough to conjoin, but still a powerful influence - and asteroid Chiron, the wounded healer, who is landing in an exact, to the minute, conjunction with the Sun and Moon. As this incredibly complex solar eclipse unfolds today in headstrong Aries, we are presented with a unique opportunity to ignite the flames of transformation within ourselves.
Please note, that because of this robust alignment, emotions will be running high today. Chiron can bring up old wounds around confrontation and Mercury Retrograde can bring confusion around communication. Tempers and big reactions are likely to show up. Step away from agitators; be kind to yourself and others.
I like to think of solar eclipses as a giant universal reset. The light of the Sun is literally blocked, representing a “shut down” of energy, then a few minutes later the Sun re-emerges from behind the Moon, refreshed and recharged!
