Banana Berry Magic - New Year, New Treat!

Last month, I really wanted to cut back on my consumption of processed sugar, which I had eaten way too much of during the holidays! As we all know, it’s not the healthiest thing we can put in our bodies, as delicious as it is! This led me to getting more creative about dessert options and snacks - I introduce you to my favorite combo - sliced bananas and blueberries topped with peanut butter, toasted pecans, cinnamon, maple syrup and a pinch of salt!

I cannot express enough how satisfying every bite is! Sweet, crunchy and nutty - AND I know how many nutrients I’m getting which makes it even better! It’s very versatile too, perfect for breakfast, a snack or after dinner treat.

Health Benefits

  • Bananas - They are one of the best sources of potassium, a critical mineral that our bodies do not create themselves. Potassium is key to keeping your body functioning!

  • Blueberries - So many amazing nutrients are in the blueberry! Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Manganese - all keep your body, skin and immune system in top shape!

  • Cinnamon - Did you know that Cinnamon is a natural antimicrobial that can protect you from getting sick? I add it to my coffee, tea, desserts and snacks!

  • Pecans - These tasty nuts are not only a good source of healthy fat (omega-3) and protein, but they’re also a great natural anti-inflammatory. Along with their omega-3 fatty acids, they also have magnesium, calcium, fiber, vitamin E, and zinc that give them anti-inflammatory properties.
