The Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

This Saturday brings us the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. Have you felt the intensity building over the last two weeks?  I believe all of us have on some level - it’s been a turbulent time for the world.  While this eclipse will not be visible to most of us in the United States, it still creates powerful energy as the Earth will align perfectly between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon, making it appear a dark, rusty red color (why it’s also called a “blood moon”).

The Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle now comes to an end.  This cycle first began in November of 2021. For the last two years, we have been experiencing eclipses in these signs which have brought our attention to themes of personal finances, shared finances, budgets, how we earn and spend money, how we manage debt, issues of intimacy, transformation, and what we value. Globally, this has played out through rising prices and inflation, causing us to rethink how we want to spend our money (Taurus) and for some, having to borrow money from others (Scorpio). This cycle reaches its completion during this eclipse.

On the individual level, look to the houses in your natal chart that are occupied by Taurus and Scorpio, what transformations or changes have occurred related to these areas of life during the last two years?

Venus, the ruler of this eclipse, will be sitting in Virgo making a trine to Uranus which will continue to build over the next few days.  This alignment tells the story of breakthroughs in relationships and money matters.

We will also have an exact opposition between Mars and Jupiter. This energy will feel emotionally intense and our desires to achieve our goals will be dramatically heightened.  In some cases it can also magnify tensions in our lives that need to be resolved.

Again, this is the final release of this cycle, time to close this chapter until we experience its return in 2040!

This Lunar Eclipse occurs at 5° Taurus at 1:24 pm PST / 4:24 pm EST. It will be most impactful for those with planets and major angles between 3° — 7° of Fixed and Earth signs; Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, Capricorn, and Virgo
